How many religious organizations/organizations give away free books/magazines based on voluntary donations?
I went into a discount book store today and found several publications distributed and used by Jehovah’s Witnesses, that we give away for no charge but accept voluntary donations. These books had prices on them, so I went up to the register and told the guy that these books were not for sale. He wasn’t concerned and just gave them to me.
Then I wondered, how many other religious organizations or churches, places of worship and other people just give away their publications and literature freely, only asking for voluntary donations if ones can?

in a capitalist society, purchase price is reached on the basis of willing buyer – willing seller. hence products reach an agreed price.
watchtower publications are such rubbish that they cannot be sold in a bookshop. there are no willing buyers. free is the only fair price for their worth.
and somehow, by giving away free books, the watchtower bts earn $951 million per year.
i’d give away free books too if i could scam that much money out of the deal. (must have something to do with the 7 million "publishers")
yes, christian churches give away stuff, usually called charity. the salvation army gives away $500 million just in the us just at christmas time. how much charity does the wtbts give away from its $951 million?
Most Churches, I got my first Bible free from a Church, Catechisms of the Catholic Church (compendium, not the big one) for free during RCIA, and they are there for anyone to take if they wish.
I have been to Protestant Churches that do the same thing, almost every Church/religious organisation will give you a copy of their scripture or documents, all you have to do is ask, most of the time you are not even asked for a donation, that’s where the collection plate comes in
.
To my knowledge, only Jehovah’s Witnesses do this.
You paid a fair price for the books
I remember hearing about an Atheist organization holding a "fiction for fiction" book swap where they would give you a novel for your bible.
