holiday help. what will i need to take with me? `?

I am travelling to Paris with my school and a coach and then a ferry.
With the type of travel in mind what would be worth my while taking on to the bus and ferry in my hand luggage? There will be about 50 people on the bus and I will be sitting next to my best friend. Just anything you wouldnt normally think of to make my journey as easy and stress free as possible.
Also if anyone can help me price;

Dude just make sure you have your ipod, camera, money and most important passport on you at all times. If your going to be there within the European summer it will be warm however its good to carry a hoodie just incase it gets cold or especially when your on the ferry. Expect pickpockets in Paris so put your wallet in a tight front pocket and dont make it obvious you have a few hundred bucks in electrical stuff on you ie camera hanging on your sholder, If your going to be home sick take something personal and small with you, something to remind you of home and your parents. If your an Aussie you MUST bring a small vegemite and if your an American you have to take Jolly Ranchers…. Its tradition.
